Hi, John here again.
Well, once my cicada flew away, I was left with the plant I was trying to place the little bug upon. It is a red geranium. Maybe cicadas hate geraniums! That might explain why the bug kept rolling off the plant.
There I was, with my lights and reflector, camera and tripod. What to do, what to do. I don't take flower pictures often, but the geranium was waiting for some attention. The flowers are all currently past their prime. However, there were a few bulbs that looked pretty cool. What the heck.
Once I had the angle I wanted I didn't like the combination of garage door, ceiling, and wall as the background. Luckily, Gina made a great assistant and held up the black side of a reflector for me! Here is the final result:
Thanks for looking!
